If you are a returning Bankstown Sports Stars FC player who played in last year winter season, you will receive a discount off this year’s fee.
This will automatically apply when registering.
Competition usually starts early April and finishes by the end of August. Registrations open from the 4th of January,
Players are allocated to their team’s and training will commence early March.
For most teams, our training nights are Tuesday and Thursday nights, starting from 5:30pm for the juniors exceptions for the senior teams.
Training is at our home ground (Bankstown city sports complex, Opposite Hospital) and is usually for 1 hour.
Times and dates will be confirmed by your allocated team managers.
Yes, at the start of 2020 BDAFA started a separate girls only competition from U6’s upwards. Girls who want to play in mixed can do as normal.
All mixed competition games are held on a Saturday, the day usually starts with the U6’s and progresses from there.
The duration of the games for the juniors start at 20mins and increases with age group.
Girls only Competition are held on a Sunday morning.
Most competitions are for 16 weeks. There are occasional Gala day weekends, as well as weekend special gameday.
Your team manager will keep you all informed. All matches must be assumed ON unless you are informed otherwise.
Sometimes games are moved to another ground when the scheduled ground is closed.
You can not assume your game is off even if the scheduled ground is closed.
Fields must not be used for training when closed by the council.

Please note that fields may remain closed for a few days after a lot of rain, so please check even if it has not rained that day.
Game Day Matches all matches must be assumed on unless you are informed otherwise. sometimes games are moved to another grounds when the scheduled ground is closed.
You can not assume your game is off even if the scheduled ground is closed. BDAFA will inform the club secretary of any changes. The club secretary will inform your team coaches & managers.

The club is registered and runs as a NOT for Profit Organisation, which means that we don’t look at making a profit.
Our aim is to keep costs to a minimum while putting everything we possibly can into building our club and delivering a warm, family friendly and safe environment for all our members.
Your registration fees goes towards: Registration, Uniforms, Equipment and Club Fees.
New Member: A full Bankstown Sports Stars FC Uniform Kit, includes Jersey, shorts and pair of socks.
Returning Member: *Must return last years jersey t receive a full Bankstown Sports Stars FC Uniform Kit, includes Jersey, shorts and pair of socks.
Club upkeep and equipment fees includes:
• Training kits; including balls, bibs, cones and portable goals available for your training sessions
• Lighting fees
• Ground hire
• Association and all referee fees
• Trophies and medallions for all junior players
• Hosted events. Amusement rides and lunch on Presentation Day for all junior players
Registration fees:
• Football Federation Australia (FFA)
• Registration with Football New South Wales (FNSW)
• Registration with Bankstown District Amateur Football Association (BDAFA)
• Registration to FFA & FNSW Accident Support Program
• Government Sporting Injuries Insurance
• Exclusive use of the fields at Kearns & Buchanan Oval for training during the week
• Exclusive use of the fields at Kearns & Buchanan Oval for games on the weekends
• Playing competition football against other clubs within the association
• Official referees and assistant referees at all competitive games
• Ground Officials to assist at games
• Access to coaching and development courses
Children who are turning 5 or 6 in that particular year will play in the Under 6′s.
Unfortunately we can not register children 4 years old and under, as our insurance won’t allow for it.
Players can not play below their age group but they can play up to 2 age groups above their own.
No refund withdrawal after the season has commenced (1st week of April)
*Please note that Jerseys Must Be Returned at the end of the season to the team’s coach, or a $50 fee will apply.
All returning players will be supplied with jersey, shorts and a pair of socks.
Registration and payment does not guarantee a spot on a team for the following reasons:
• Un-registrable team due to an insufficient number of players.
• No coach or manager for a team.
• Any other unforeseen BDAFA stipulations.

With an emphasis on quality training, Bankstown Sports Stars Football Club aims to provide a valuable sporting and social experience for all our players and develop talented players.
The selection of coaches and managers takes place over the two weeks following final registrations.
Each team is required to have 1 Coach and 1 Manager (RTO – Registered Team Official). If the club has any ‘available’ coaches they will be appointed as the need arises.
Have you got your WWCC? If you would like to coach or manage a team or volunteer this season it is required to apply for a (WWCC) Working with Children Check and Register as Coach, Manager or a volunteer.
WWCC registration is free and includes insurance cover with the “Accident Support Program”

The role of the manager (RTO) is to forward information that is sent out by the club to all team members, communicate to players, training times, match time, social events etc.
Managers play an important role ensuring to complete the match cards, look after the players ID cards and present them to the opposition manager for inspection before each match as well as checking the opposition’s cards.
Relay any concerns from the coach or yourself to your age coordinator.
Volunteer: The volunteers throughout Bankstown Sports Stars Football Club’s history, we have relied on the hard work and determination of our volunteers.
We have several opportunities available for volunteers to become involved at the club in the following fields, as well as beginning their careers with BSSFC:
